This year, to mark my 60th birthday, I’ve decided to do something I’ve always wanted to do – a skydive! On Friday 24th April, I’ll be taking the leap through my work, The Access Group, in support of a cause that means a great deal to me.

We’re raising money for dementia research – a charity that feels especially important to me as an old friend of mine, who is younger than me, is living with this devastating illness. Dementia is a cruel and frightening disease. It not only affects the person diagnosed, but also deeply impacts their family and friends who watch someone they care about gradually change.

I would love to raise as much as possible to help fund vital research into this terrible condition and bring hope to those affected. I need to raise £395 by 10th April, and the amazing news is that The Access Group will match every pound donated – doubling the impact of your support.

If you’re able to contribute, no matter how small, it would mean a great deal to me – and even more to the people and families facing dementia every day.

Thank you so much for your support. Now all I have to do is jump! Caroline Lawler
