Hi everyone,

We're Ollie and Alex, and this September, we're taking on the challenge of a lifetime: traversing the entire length of Offa's Dyke Path — 294.3 km (183 miles) from Prestatyn to Chepstow in just 5 days! We'll be running, walking, and (let's be honest) probably crawling along the Welsh-English border to raise money for Dementia UK.

WHY THIS CHALLENGE MATTERS?
For Ollie, this is deeply personal. After major knee surgery a year ago, he’s spent twelve months rebuilding his strength and determination. Now, he’s ready to test his limits for a cause close to his heart: dementia. Having witnessed a family member suffer from this devastating condition, Ollie knows firsthand the confusion, loss of independence, and emotional toll it brings to both individuals and their loved ones.

Alex, an accomplished athlete, is the perfect partner for this journey. His sporting prowess, grit, and willingness to push through sweat and tears will be invaluable as we take on this epic adventure together. Our goal is to show that no obstacle is too big — and that anyone can make a difference.

THE CHALLENGE
• Distance: 294.3 km (183 miles)
• Duration: 5 days (almost one and a half marathons per day!)
• Elevation Gain: 9,303 meters (more than climbing Everest from sea level!)
• Route: The historic Offa’s Dyke Path, through wild landscapes, steep hills, and ancient borderlands

To put it in perspective, we’ll be covering the equivalent of running from Loughborough to Dover — and then some — in less than a week, climbing more than seven times the height of Ben Nevis. Each day will test our endurance and resolve as we face rough terrain, unpredictable weather, and relentless hills.

WHY DEMENTIA UK?
Dementia UK is a lifeline for families facing the challenges of dementia. Their specialist Admiral Nurses provide expert advice, practical solutions, and emotional support to those affected. With over 944,000 people living with dementia in the UK, the need for support has never been greater.

Your donation will help:
• Fund more Admiral Nurses
• Provide a helpline for advice and support
• Support research, training, and resources for families
• Every pound raised will offer real hope and practical help to those who need it most.

We’re doing this for Dementia UK, to support families and fund vital research and care. Every step, every hill, and every mile will be worth it if we can make a difference together.

Thank you for your support! Ollie Samuel
