Fundraiser for Dementia UK Donate Together we can make a difference - every donation will be matched by The Access Group, doubling your impact! Over the next months, I will be training hard for my quest to complete the final 67km of the iconic Camino de Santiago in June 2026, trekking through the rolling hills and ancient paths of northern Spain – all in support of Dementia UK.Our 3-day trek will follow the world-famous Camino Frances (The French Way). Starting in Palas de Rei, we’ll make our way to the historic and spiritual city of Santiago de Compostela, home to the breathtaking UNESCO-listed Cathedral of Santiago. Why I'm fundraising for Dementia UK After my partner’s dad, John, was diagnosed with vascular dementia, it profoundly changed not only his life but also that of his wife - my partner’s mum. As his condition progressed, she became his full-time carer, showing incredible strength in the face of immense challenges, made even harder by the Covid pandemic. Losing John was a devastating blow to the family, and his absence is still deeply felt years later. That’s why supporting Dementia UK means so much to me: they offer vital help to families like ours, facing the daily realities of dementia. Their specialist Admiral Nurses provide expert, compassionate support to people living with dementia and to the families who care for them. Every donation helps ensure more families can access the guidance and care they need when they need it most. With your generous support on my Dementia UK fundraiser, together we can help reach even more families who desperately need help and support. Thank you so much for your donation today. Mia Filisch
