Beckie's fundraiser for Dementia UK in memory of Granny Donate I'm walking 66km of the Camino de Santiago to raise money for Dementia UK, in memory of my lovely Granny.Nearly six years ago, we said goodbye to Granny after her journey with Alzheimer's. It was a tough time, but when I think of her, I don't think of her being unwell. I think of her greeting us with wiggling fingers and a huge smile calling out "magique!" Going straight to the greenhouse with her to water the tomatoes and runner beans, hearing stories from when she was a midwife, and dog walks with the all-important 'smarty stops' along the way.She made every visit feel special, from applauding our terrible plays to decorating gingerbread men together. Those are the memories that stay with me, and they're why I'm proud to be raising money for Dementia UK.AND Access will match every donation! So this fundraising will have double the impact, helping Dementia UK, the specialist dementia nursing charity to reach even more families who desperately need help and support. Today, nearly one million people in the UK are living with dementia. One in two of us will be affected by it in our lifetime – whether by caring for someone with the diagnosis, developing it ourselves, or both. It’s the biggest health and social challenge of our time. Dementia UK's Admiral Nurses, provide expert, compassionate advice and support to anyone affected by dementia, whenever it is needed.Thank you so much for your donation today. Beckie Braham
