I’m fundraising for Dementia UK, the specialist dementia nursing charity that is there for the whole family.

Today, nearly one million people in the UK are living with dementia. One in two of us will be affected in our lifetime – whether by caring for someone with the diagnosis, developing it ourselves, or both. It’s the biggest health and social challenge of our time. Dementia UK’s Admiral Nurses provide expert, compassionate advice and support to anyone affected by dementia, whenever it is needed.

My challenge is to raise £2,500 – and with Access matching every pound, that means double the impact. Together, we can help fund vital support for families affected by dementia.

Here’s what your support could help provide:

- £4 could pay for the telephone costs of one family calling the Helpline for free to get the support they need.

- £10 could help 10 families find out more about dementia and how to get a diagnosis for a loved one through funding information and advice leaflets.

- £25 could pay for a carer to receive an hour of one-to-one support from a dementia specialist Admiral Nurse on the free Helpline
