Like most people, I’ve seen first-hand how dementia impacts families over time - not just medically, but emotionally and practically.

In June 2026, I’ll be cycling from London to Paris; 190 miles over 3 days, alongside 25 colleagues from The Access Group, raising money for Dementia UK.

Dementia is one of the biggest health challenges we face. Nearly one million people in the UK are living with it, and for most families, it doesn’t just affect one person - it reshapes everyday life for everyone around them.

What makes Dementia UK different is the way they support families through Admiral Nurses. These are specialist dementia nurses who don’t just focus on the clinical side - they provide practical advice, emotional support, and ongoing guidance to families navigating incredibly difficult situations.

That support can be the difference between feeling completely overwhelmed and having someone in your corner who understands what you’re dealing with.

The ride itself will be a challenge - long days, cumulative fatigue, and a proper physical test - but it’s nothing compared to what families affected by dementia go through every day.

All funds raised will be matched by Access, so every donation goes twice as far.

If you’re able to contribute, I’d really appreciate it. And if not, sharing the page is just as valuable. Ben Peck
